This is a free email service with no sign-up. It is just there when you need it. You can start using this service right now - just send an e-mail to absolutely_anything@nabuma.com or provide such e-mail address to whomever you wish not to have your real one. It is that easy. Then type that e-mail address in the search box on the top right corner and read what's arrived. Easy again.
Of course, 'absolutely_anything' does not mean absolutely anything literally - you have to think of some name, which is easy for you to remember and is not likely be used by other people. For example, bob, pi314, and appletree are all bad, bob_475893, pi2pie4piper, and b0x0fap11es are much better.
You can also use other domain names to send e-mail to and access the service:
i.e., a44@humality.com is exactly the same as a44@nobugmail.com.The service is useful because:
- It discards all emails it receives, eventually. Messages are kept for 24 hours, but you can keep them longer if you wish.
- There are no exploits, spoofs, or hoaxes - what arrives here, stays here. Unless you decide to spill your guts into a fishing site - cannot help you in that case.
- It achieves security through obscurity - there are no protection, no encryption, and no authentication procedures, but, really, who cares about your email? We certainly don't. We don't archive it either.
- You can create new e-mails and reply to the e-mails you receive - since we don't know who you are, neither will the recipient, if you are into the whole privacy thing.
- Your e-mail account only exists if there are messages in it. The account disappears when you delete the last message or when it expires. The account is created again when the service receives a message for it.
So, why you might want to use a private e-mail address? Here is why:
- Communicate with someone you spouse does not approve of
- Receive news your government tries to block
- Sign-up for sites and services for which your work e-mail cannot possibly be used
- Create shopping account and will never ever know about their next sale
- And, again, the whole privacy thing - temporary one-time use e-mail is as anonymous as it could be, although we are not willing to go to jail for you (see no privacy disclaimer for details).
